Located in the centre of Quebec, the Presse Papier artist-run centre was founded in 1979, in order to meet the creative needs of a group of young and enthusiastic artists. The studio has now become a multi-disciplinary workshop.
At the outset, Presse Papier workshop numbered eleven young printmakers and has now developed into a studio representing more than thirty-five multidisciplinary artists who have printmaking at heart. The presence of several of the studio’s artists on the regional, national and international stage bears witness to the importance of our centre on the careers of every one of our members.
Presse Papier aspires to be a source of creativity whose development is linked to the needs of its members. The workshop has been enriched by the creative experiences of its members and by its numerous collaborative projects, and these have consolidated its important place in contemporary printmaking.
